Most cover letter feedback is useless. This isn't.

"Be more specific" is not feedback. Here is what you actually get.

Scored on six dimensions

Not one vague number. Your opening, evidence, job fit, voice, structure, and closing are each scored, so you know exactly which part of the letter is losing the reader.

Rewrites, not advice

Every issue quotes the exact line from your letter and hands you a replacement sentence. No "be more specific" — the specific version, ready to paste.

Catches what recruiters notice

Clichés, generic filler that would survive a find-and-replace of the company name, and the flat cadence of unedited AI output — flagged with the offending text.

What we check, line by line

A cover letter fails in specific, fixable ways. We score each one separately so you know where the letter is losing the reader — and we quote the exact sentence doing the damage.

  • Opening hook — does the first line earn the second?
  • Specific evidence versus adjectives about yourself
  • Alignment to what the posting actually asks for
  • Voice that sounds like a person, not a template
  • Structure, flow, and whether the length earns itself
  • A closing with a real next step
Sample finding

"I am writing to express my keen interest in the Product Designer role at your esteemed company."

Try instead

"Your checkout redesign cut a five-step flow to two. I spent last year doing the same thing to an onboarding funnel, and I'd like to do it again on your team."

Flagged as: cliché, generic filler.

Three steps, about a minute

1

Paste or upload

Drop in your letter as text or a PDF. Add the job posting if you have it.

2

Watch it score

Scores and summary land first, then the line-by-line fixes — usually in under a minute.

3

Fix and send

Copy the rewrites you agree with. Make an account to keep the review and check it against your resume.

With an account, we check your letter against your resume

The fastest way to lose an interview is to claim something in your cover letter that your resume doesn't support — a title you didn't hold, a metric that isn't there, a tool you never listed. A generic AI chat can't catch that, because it has never seen your resume. We do, and we quote the claim back to you.

Free accounts include cover letter reviews, an AI resume review, and one tailored resume a day.

Cover Letter Review FAQ

Is this cover letter review free?

Yes. Paste or upload your cover letter and get a full review with no account, no credit card, and no email required. Create a free account afterwards and the letter and its feedback move to your dashboard automatically, where we can also check it against your own resume.

What does the AI actually check?

Six things, each scored 0–100: your opening hook, how specific and evidence-backed the letter is, how well it aligns to the job, whether the voice sounds like a person, structure and length, and how the closing lands. You also get the specific lines that are hurting you, each with a rewrite you can paste straight in.

Will it tell me if my letter sounds AI-written?

Yes. One of the red flags we look for is the tell-tale signature of unedited generated text: uniform sentence lengths, moreover/furthermore scaffolding, tidy tricolons, and praise of the company that reads like it came from an About page. Recruiters notice it, so we flag it.

Do I need the job description?

No, but it makes the review sharper. Without it we judge the writing itself and whether the letter is tailored to any specific role at all. Paste the posting or its URL and we score how well the letter answers what that job actually asks for.

Can it rewrite my cover letter for me?

It rewrites the specific lines that are weak, rather than replacing your letter wholesale. That's deliberate: the parts of a cover letter worth keeping are the ones only you could have written. Rewrites reuse only facts already in your letter — where a stronger version needs a number you didn't give us, you'll see a placeholder to fill in rather than an invented figure.

What formats can I use?

Paste the text directly, or upload a PDF up to 10MB. Pasting is usually easiest, since most cover letters live in a doc or an email draft rather than as a file on disk.

Is my cover letter kept private?

Your letter is not shared with third parties and is not used to train AI models. Letters reviewed without an account are deleted automatically if you never claim them.

Find out before they do

It takes about a minute, and you'll know exactly which lines to change.
